  • 1946

    Ito Insurance agency was founded by Tom T. Ito began by providing insurance services to returning Japanese-American in the post war period.

  • 1948

    Funakoshi Insurance Agency was established by Willie M. Funakoshi in Little Tokyo of Los Angeles. From a one-man operation, the Funakoshi’s built the business into a highly respected independent insurance agency.

  • 1978

    Ito Insurance Agency officially incorporated.

  • 1980

    Funakoshi Insurance Agency was sold to Tim S. Manaka who joined the agency in December 1956 and succeeded as the firm’s president. The firm had grown to a staff of 16.

  • Pasadena Insurance Agent 1996

    FIA Insurance was officially established combining decades of insurance experience from Funakoshi Insurance Agency and Ito Insurance Agency.

    Under the leadership of Tim Manaka Jr and Jim Matsushita, FIA Insurance Services is carrying on its tradition in servicing the community with courtesy, honesty and professionalism.
